Weary Shadows

The initial idea of this collection dates back to my experience in printmaking and working with metal cliches. During this process, visual effects of rusted metal, shadows, unique colors, and their textures homogenized with my contemplation on the content of metamorphosis. Not only does the transfiguration of metal that occurs through chemical corrosion deobjectifies the crude material but inverts its quiddity, as if the rusted quality of metal indicates the passage of time and speaks from the heart of another period.

Armors indicate the presence of strife, yet they clearly show our desire to protect ourselves. Armor can also be a subjective matter, an insistence on what no longer has any use for us, just a merely heavy piece that we carry around. These pieces of metal bear resemblance to ideas and thoughts, sometimes they are shining, reasoning, and shielding, but when they lose their function, they will be a heavy burden on our shoulders, while with an inversion of meaning, now we must protect them, where we fight in front of our shields and not them for us.

The project is still being formed and transformed, also parts of three-dimensional forms are supposed to be added to it, as well as pieces of carved and deoxidized paintings on metal sheets. Finally, the presentation of this project is predicted to be held by a space-oriented installation.
