DEAD OF NIGHT IN THE WOODS, SORCERES COOK

Coping with the concept of death has become the main concern of my thoughts for a long time, an issue that I suppose many of us would like to postpone thinking about or like our ancestors, immersed in another world, even make it seem pleasant. But what occupies my mind is death in the field of life. Accepting death in the short journey of life is an exhausting thing, but the knowledge of being deprived of the full experience of living in this short period is an example of endless suffering.

A common proverb says: "As long as human beings do not feel safe in their periphery, they take refuge in a place in their imagination." Nature and imaginary places have always been a place to avoid social strictures and restrictive laws, that's why landscape plays a key role in these artworks.

The displayed pages, rather than being a unified collection to presentation, were a kind of escape to an imaginary spot, where I outpour my feelings. To me, these works express an uncertain situation between myself and my surroundings, as if I have always been on the threshold and waiting for something, the waiting that has become a faith complication in this psychological horizon. From this point of view, the set of images is depicted in a mental geography based on suspension, detachment, drowning in oneself, and an unclear border between truth and delusive, as if they have become normal and quotidian in a post-accident world.
